Ruby's expertise includes conducting complex research with a range of hard-to-reach participants. Ruby has 11 years experience of designing, implementing and evaluating community development and co-production approaches with diverse and vulnerable populations across London. This includes working closely with partners in primary care, local authority representatives, homeless shelters and a range of voluntary organisations; as well as supporting various training and knowledge-exchange initiatives across Europe. She has played a vital role in the design and delivery of award-winning and internationally recognised community development frameworks.

Ruby is passionate about exploring the impact of the environment, social networks, and socioeconomic factors on human behaviour and happiness. She has a degree in criminology, a Masters in public health, and passed her PhD exam in 2022. Ruby’s PhD focused on the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on civic engagement and well-being across the life course. While Ruby is predominantly a qualitative researcher, she has extensive experience of designing and implementing mixed-method evaluations including vast longitudinal surveys. Ruby is passionate about adopting multi-disciplinary and collaborative research techniques to inform key decisions in policy and practice. She has applied this passion in recent years to a large-scale European Commission project focused on exploring youth pathways into cybercrime, taking a leading role in the qualitative elements of the project.
